Become Pac-Man world champ

Microsoft, Namco Bandai and Quiznos have teamed together to bring us the first Pac-Man World Championship in history.

The winner will be crowned world champion by game creator Toru Iwatani, receive 26 years of free Quizinos toasted sandwiches, 100,000 Microsoft Points and a specially designed Pac-Man Xbox 360. A rather boisterous bounty.

The contest will be based on the Live Arcade version of the game and take place between 25th April and 9th May. Those with the highest scores from around the world will then be selected to go to the finals in New York on 5th June.

Two lucky devils will be selected from both Europe and America, joined by one each from Asia, Australia/New Zealand, Canada, Japan and Mexico.

An extra wildcard space will be offered to the winner of the Pac-Man FANatic competition, which lets American and Canadian gamers submit a video to show why they are the most devoted fan on the planet.

Valve's Steam service hacked, credit card info obtained

Looks like its time to cancel another card...Valve is still not responding to this as of yet, how wonderful.

Valve's Steam content distribution system has apparently been hacked. The culprit allegedly got deep enough into the system to steal credit card information and financial information on Valve. DailyTech reports the hacker known as "MaddoxX" broke in and obtained:

MaddoxX posted the information he obtained on an anti-Steam website. He has also threatened to release a spreadsheet of the credit card information. We've contacted Valve for a statement on this alleged breach in security.

Command and Conquer 3 Xbox 360 demo being released today?

A forum admin over at the official C&C forums has revealed that the playable demo of Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars will be available on Xbox Live this Thursday, following yesterday's release of C&C3 downloads.

Set in the Tiberium Universe, Command & Conquer 3 boasts an intuitive console-specific control scheme, fast-action strategy gameplay, deep single player campaign, and an immersive multiplayer experience featuring massive battles where you take control of large armies on the battlefield of the future.

The Xbox 360 version of Command & Conquer 3 will feature two exclusive multiplayer modes: Capture the Flag and Siege. The game will also support the Xbox Live Vision camera, which will allow you to see your opponent's face while you decimate him in Xbox Live battles.
